About Tabitha Potts

I was recently awarded an Honourable Mention by the Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize for my short story Poppet. I have been long-listed for the Royal Academy Pindrop Award and the Sunderland Short Story Award,  a Finalist in MIROnline’s Folk Tale Festival and Highly Commended in MIROnline’s Booker Prize Competition judged by Ian McEwan. I was the winner of the Almasi League Flash Fiction Award judged by Courttia Newland. Several of my stories have been published in print anthologies. I have an MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck and a First Class Honours degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University. I run Story Radio, a short story podcast.

I stood in 2018 and again in 2022 as a Liberal Democrats candidate for Mile End Ward in Tower Hamlets, demanding a better borough – cleaner, greener, more equal and safer for all. I am passionate about protecting the environment and public health and rejoining the European Union as soon as possible.
