New short story featured in Witch Season: Issue One

by tabithapotts

I’m delighted to say that I have a flash short story, ‘Nijuushin’ (the Japanese word for doppelgänger), published in Witch Season: Issue One. Witch Season is a spellbinding eZine created from a workshop series of the same name that takes place each October, run by For Books Sake. Issue One contains work produced during their workshops from the first two years (2022-23). These selected pieces have been created around themes including spell-writing, horror, intuition, dark fairytales and sex magick.

My particular short story was inspired by my interest in doppelgängers and by a trip to Japan several years ago. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of doubles (I’ve never met mine, which is probably a good thing as meeting your double is meant to foretell your own death). I once asked Brett Easton Ellis at a reading about his use of doubles in Glamorama, which I was reading at the time. He denied any knowledge of them and looked at me as if I was mad.
